As is the case in many complex emergencies, the struggle to stop the spread of Ebola virus disease is not just about providing services such as information, vaccines and treatment. It’s about gaining the trust of people who have good reason to be wary, so they fully engage in preventing the crisis from getting worse.
As storms and floods become more extreme, weather forecasts trigger relief funding before disaster strikes, giving people time to prepare and potentially saving many more lives.
